Travel Bold Tuesday – A River Cruise Along the Seine with Uniworld

S.S. Joie de Vivre brings the “joy of living” to the rivers of France. Last weekend myself (Hannah) and Lindsay were on board the beautiful S.S. Joie de Vivre, which is a boutique river cruise, based in the heart of the city of love on the Seine. The ultra All Inclusive ship only sleeps 128 guests, making it the perfect luxurious river experience.
This has been our first time on a River Cruise and what a way to start than on the luxury Uniworld Cruises which is the world’s most awarded luxury river cruise line.
Our time on board was absolutely amazing, we had exceptional cuisine, impeccable service and brilliant entertainment!
On board there are 3 dining venues, La Restaurant Pigalle, Le Bistrot and Le Caves Des Vins which were all included in the fare. We dined in La Restaurant Pigalle for breakfast, lunch and our evening meals and the food was amazing. We had French inspired cuisine such as Escargots, French Onion Soup and loads of lovely French Cheese! We also had some of the most amazing deserts I have ever had such as Chocolate Mousse and Napoleon Cake. We also had a constant supply of cookies on board, which were so moreish.
Each Uniworld ship is inspired by the river they are based on. With distinctive themes, colour palettes, custom-made fabrics, personally selected original artwork, sumptuous furnishings and antiques, each element, down to the smallest detail, has been thoughtfully considered and flawlessly rendered.
As we were sailing on the Seine, the Joie de Vivre is Parisian inspired. We were lucky enough to have been staying in 1 of 2 38 square meter Grand Suites on board, which had a charming Parisian flare, featuring art work from the Napoleonic Wars (which I must admit, it was strange waking up and having Napoleon looking at you!) All the accommodation on board was sophisticated and all have Savoir Beds, which are the comfiest beds ever, even Elton John has one. And if it is good enough for Elton John, it is good enough for our amazing guests.
